We have pruchased icing flowers, lillies and roses.
The purchased icing flowers will possibly need to be wired onto an extra length of wire (wire for flowers is available from specialty icing shops). (Flowers) some of the flowers can be used with short stems. |

Placing the Flowers onto the Cake
Before you commence try to work out the placement of the flowers, take the time to plan where you think they will look the best. Start adding the larger flowers first creating a shape with them. The wire on the flowers can be carefully pushed into the icing and if necessary pipe a little of the royal icing onto the base of the wire stem where it enters the cake. The icing will help to keep the flowers “anchored” to the cake. |
|

Keep adding the flowers as shown in the photograph. |

Now, add the smaller flowers in between the larger ones. |
|

Small squares of very pale pink tuille can be secured onto the wire and then used to fill in the gaps between the flowers. Once again just gently push the wire into the cake. |

To give the cake a special sparkle that catches the light, the set icing can be dusted with an edible glitter (once again the glitter is available from specialty icing shops). |
