This a great alternative to the yeast base. Some of my kids are sensitive to yeast so this is ideal. Substituting Gluten Free Flour works well too. Tasty and easy. Obviously not as good as a yeast base, but great when you are in a hurry.

ingredients

Base
1½ cups self-raising flour
1 egg, beaten
2 tablespoons olive oil
½ cup milk

Spread ¼ cup Leggo's Tomato Paste over each pizza base.

instructions

step 1

Sift self-raising flour and a pinch of salt into a bowl and make a well in the centre.

step 2

Beat together egg, oil and milk and stir into flour, mixing all ingredients into a soft dough.

step 3

Turn mixture out onto a floured board and knead lightly. Divide the dough in two and roll out to fit 2 x 25 cm round oiled pizza trays.

step 4

Top with preferred toppings. (See recipe tip). Bake in a preheated oven at 200ºC for 15- 20 minutes.

Pizza toppings

Capriccossa Pizza

Arrange 8-10 slices salami, 1 cup sliced mushrooms and ¼ cup sliced black olives over bases. Top with 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese.

Hawaiian Pizza
Simply top pizza bases with 1 cup chopped ham, ½ cup crushed pineapple and sprinkle with 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese.
