Satay sauce

A fragrant thick sauce made from ground peanuts and coconut milk, simmered with spices onion and garlic. Typical to Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian and Malaysian cuisine it is used as a marinade for meats, dipping sauce or as a sauce over salads such as for the Indonesian dish Gado Gado. It is also often used as for as stir-fry flavouring. Satay sauce is available readymade in cans or jars at the supermarket.
